NOT SOLVED - Cannot change home address in Neighbors app!

locations

PLEASE DO NOT MERGE THIS TOPIC INTO THE ONE MARKED 'SOLVED' SINCE THE ISSUE IS NOT SOLVED! I'm starting a new post since the other post about this issue has been, incorrectly, marked as 'Solved'. It isn't! I have my correct home address in my Ring App. When I look at the address in the Neighbors App it shows a different address. When I attempt to change the address in the Neighbors App it tells me to go change the address in the Ring App. I do not want to change the addres in the Ring App since it is correct. I want to change the incorrect address in the Neighbors App.

Definately NOT SOLVED. I have the same issue. My Ring account only has one location which has the correct address, yet the Neighbor App uses a different address that has never been associated with my Ring account. Tried creating a new location and removed any others, but still wrong. I would try to create another account, but it will not let me since I would use the same email address.

I was wondering... Are the person having trouble live in a newly constructed house...say less that a year old? I think the issue might be that whatever the RING app uses to verify address, has not been updated. It will accept entering it manually, but then the Neighborhood app seems to use a central location address per zip code. I tried the WORKAROUND, that is, change address in Ring to not include the street number and use location service. I noticed that my address was not listed as one of the selection. When I chose to use current location, it entered the address of my neighbor who has lived in the neighborhood about a year before me. When I first moved in, Google could not find my address, but does now. Other apps like Realtor and Ziillow, still cannot find it. I am guessing the real fix for this is a more updated/accurate list of addresses in however Ring uses to verify address.

It just baffels me that this is not a quick manual fix inside one of the apps. I just spent 30+ mins trying to figure it out myself and then ended up on the "solved" thread when I googled the problem. This has been being worked on since June 2018? OMFG After trying maybe 20 mins of the "solved" thread I thought what the heck, I'll call them. 51 minute call....act like they've never heard of this issue. Directed them to the "solved" thread, told them I've tried all this multiple times and not working. My ticket is now escalated to tier 2 and I found this thread where they tried to sweep the OP under the rug. The fact that you mention this new construction/address thing might be just a theory or a guess, but it's more progress in 5 seconds than I made with them on the phone. This is a sort of established neighboorhood but still growing my address is brand new construction where we closed less than 30 days ago and missing from various address systems like you mentioned...

I have the same problem, we moved to a new state and I still get safety reports for the old address. Everything I have tried to do to fix this has failed. Deleted app, setup the ring doorbell 4 times and it still will not let me change the address.

Hi there, neighbors! When having multiple locations, there should be preferences available for your Neighbors section of the Ring app. When logged into the Ring app, you should be able to visit the Neighbors section from the menu, then tap the gear icon on the Neighbors page. This will bring you to your Neighbors locations, in which notification preferences should be an option here. You will be able to disable the alerts for certain events or locations. You can also try this using the Neighbors app. If this option is not available or working, try removing and reinstalling the Ring app on your mobile device. If you are needing further assistance with this, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support. As we always value our neighbors' feedback, feel free to add any related requests on our [Feature Request Board](https://community.ring.com/c/products/feature-request-board/24). This way other neighbors can share their interest in one place, that we can organize and share with our teams here. :)

So after waiting for weeks that my case was escalated....they simply replied with the same cut and paste THAT DOES NOT WORK. per the previous mention in the support forum, yes I can now confirm my address being new construction is the issue. I changed to a nearby, but "established" address and neighbors app works fine. This is a great fix, but will probably be an issue when the police show up at someone elses house..... COME ON RING...GET YOUR @$&*^ TOGETHER!! So what it's doing is the ring app compares your address to some central/similiar location and passes that address to the neighbors app. So it's totally broken when you have an address that it doesn't recognize to be able to do this. JUST GIVE US THE OPTION TO SET WHATVER ADDRESS WE WANT IN THE APP...WHY DOES IT HAVE TO RELY ON WHAT RING APP HAS? WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT?

Hi neighbors! To correct the location shown in your Ring app you will need to update the address by re-entering it in settings. Follow the steps below to update the location in your app. * Ensure your Ring app is up to date. * App versions required: 5.49 (iOS) or 3.49 (Android) or higher. * Open the the Main Menu in the Ring app by tapping on the three lines on the top left corner. * Confirm the location you would like to update is selected at the top, then select **Settings** . * Select **Change Address.** * Tap **Edit Address.** * **Note:** If you have Professional Monitoring as part of your Ring Alarm, you will be switched to self-monitoring. You will need to update your preference in the monitoring section in the Ring app to Professional Monitoring, this will confirm your updated address for monitoring. * Input your address, when you begin typing it will auto populate options in a drop down that you can choose from as well. * Confirm your address is correct on the map. * Confirm the name you’d like for your **Location.** * You are all set with an updated location! Please let us know if you have any further concerns with the location in your app. Thank you for being a great neighbor!
