Live view deletes Pre-roll and motion detection footage
I had a motion detection warning and I opened live view from the notification. For a split second I could see a person before they disappeared from view but none of that recorded. No pre-roll recorded or any of the footage from when motion detection triggered the notification. Please help this may be the only footage I get of my dangerous ex now that he has seen the ring he will cover his face when he comes back.

We have 3 ring floodlights. When I go to recordings to check if these punk kids behind us are throwing eggs at the cars….i play it back…. Someone is in the recording…or frame…but ONLY for a split second, for real. A split second. This happens constantly. I was watching my husband leave for work one morning and he was there and then GONE. I’ve seen the replies from Ring addressing the problem…they’re not really addressing the problem seems like it’s an automatic reply or a copy and paste answer since it’s the same answer for everyone…. This is ridiculous. Nothing is wrong with the WIFI. We got so sick and tired of this happening that we went out and bought WYZE. Now we haven’t ditch Ring yet but it’s coming, the cameras are useless. Back to WYZE. So far so good. Loads of features that you don’t have to get a subscription for and ring doesn’t even offer at all. The picture is AMAZING and the night vision is superb. The Price, awesome. We bought a 2 pack of the Wyze Cam OG cameras, battery operated and you can use an SD card instead of being forced to buy the subscription. The two pack was $XXXX. We’ll see if anyone disappears from these cameras.

Hi @BadBMarie. What specific device do you have? You should be able to view [Pre-Roll](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038650731-Understanding-the-Pre-Roll-Feature) in your Event History for that Ring device. Try checking on Ring.com to see if you can view the footage you are looking for.
