Z Wave Extender needed?

I completed the setup of my Ring Alarm Pro and my ring devices are within range to my base station. I have the Z Wave Extender that came with the Ring Alarm Pro kit and do not need to use it since my devices are within range to the base station. Should I plug it in anyway or can I put it away to use in the future if needed?
