Which devices make sound (chime) when a door is opened?

I purchased an alarm system. I have three floors in my home. I have a base station on the main level, and a keypad in the basement. When somebody opened the door, I heard no chime (beeping) on the second level. I purchased a Dome Siren, but it gives a siren and is not chime when the door is opened. Which devices make a sound when doors are opened? I need to hear chime on the second floor.

Good question @onlize! Both the Base Station and the Keypad can play chirps. To enable this please visit the Keypad, Contact Sensors, and Motion Detectors in the Ring app to toggle on the "Play Chirps", "Open Alerts", or "Motion Alerts" toggles. On the Contact Sensor and Motion Detector device page in the Ring app, you will also see the "Chirp Tones" option, giving you the ability to choose from a list of tones. On the Base Station and Keypad page in the Ring app there will be an "Audio Settings" option, which allows you to control the volume of each. Keep in mind, the Alarm siren will always play at max volume. I hope this helps! :)

Thank you for your reply. Everything works for me. The problem is that I cannot hear chime on one of the floors and I am looking for device that would chime when someone opens door. I need to set it up on one of the floors.

Of course, @onlize! :) I'd recommend considering the addition of another Keypad here. You are able to have multiple Keypads at a location, and multistory homes make for the best use case for more. This would further extend the chirp sounds throughout your home. Let's see if any neighbors will chime in with more suggestions, such as any Alexa skills or placement tips.

I use an extra keypad myself. You can even trigger the panic mode with it if needed. Just remember that green light will be bright when plugged in. Some people don't like it. I have it in my bedroom but it doesn't bother me at all. Just a thought for you about placement if you go this route.

I had ADT some time back and it used to announce which door I opened e.g. “kitchen door opened”. I am looking for something similar in Ring. Chirp sound does not tell me which door is opened unless I check the ring app. Any thoughts ?

@Ami The announcement of sensor names via chirp when they are opened/closed is not a feature at this time, but a great idea! As we value our neighbors' feedback, we've created a [Feature Request](https://community.ring.com/t5/Feature-Request-Board/idb-p/Feature_Request_Board) board. Feel free to add this and any future feature requests there. This will help us to organize and share your requests with our teams here, as well as allow other neighbors to comment and add interest, all in one place.

A better idea is to buy an Echo Dot and setup an Alexa Routine to make a sound or even verbally tell you when a sensor is opened or closed or both. Echo Dots are cheap and sensor trips can be announced to a single Echo Dot or multiple ones at once.

JHill, that sounds like a superb idea! We have no Dots, but do have three Echo Shows, and presume they would work like that also. Do I understand that Alexa could actually say "front door opened" when that particular sensor is activated?
