Hi @user6497. Your Motion Detector will still detect motion even while it is in Home Mode or isn't armed, it just won't trigger the siren on the Base Station unless it is armed based on your [Modes settings](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005312623-Arming-Disarming-and-Setting-Modes-on-your-Ring-Alarm). You have the option to turn off the alerts by going to Devices > Alarm System > your Motion Detector > toggle Motion Alerts off. The Motion Detector will still be active and will trigger the siren whenever it's armed based on the Mode your system is in, but you won't receive Motion Alerts. I hope this information helps. :)
