Motion sensor gen 2 not very sensitive

Hi, I recently replaced a gen 1 motion sensor as it was starting to detect motion when there wasn’t any and it had been fine for years. Well this gen 2 isn’t half as sensitive, if I keep low to the ground it didn’t detect me at all as I made my way across the room! Surely this can’t be right? I could never get past my gen 1 no matter what I did!
