Motion sensor detecting small cat

Hello. I have the original ring alarm system. The motion detector in the hallway is detecting my new cat and setting the alarm off. I have set it to the least sensitive setting, which is for large dogs, but my small cat is still setting it off. I think it is when the cat goes up or down the stairs, maybe then she appears bigger??Is there anything I can do? Is the newer motion detector any better? Don’t trust to set the alarm at the moment.
