Wired Ring Doorbell - Transformer
Bought in Nov 2023 and the transformer has failed and so the doorbell does not work. Called Ring on Thursday last week - they'd send a complete new unit (Bell + transformer) as they are out of stock of the transformer alone. Saturday - the package arrives - no transformer. Called yesterday - now told they have no transformers at all - not just on their own but as part of packages. Moreover, they can't advise the timescale for getting one - they don't want to give me a date and disappoint. Told to buy a Ring Transformer through Amazon or other third party sources. I ask that I echo what they have said to me in an email - but they will not provide an email address. Instead they will send an 'No Reply' email but it may not echo our conversation as these are recorded but these are encrypted and cannot be copied. If I can get a Ring transformer via Amazon, why can't Ring supply direct? So I have a Ring product which has a two year warranty, Ring can't replace the faulty part at the moment and cannot give me any idea when they will be able to do so. Instead they are referring me elsewhere to replace a Ring part with another Ring part (it has to be a Ring part so as not to invalidate the warranty). Meantime, my Ring Doorbell does not work and they will not confirm their advice in writing. I find this bizarre and unacceptable. Am I alone in doing so? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi @user_cdb190. I'm sorry to hear you're having some difficulty replacing the transformer for your Ring Doorbell. I don't have access to any account details, including replacement requests, but I am happy to clarify a few things. Amazon and Ring have separate stock, which is why you may be able to order the Ring transformer from Amazon, but it is out of stock from Ring. It is also not required to use the Ring transformer specifically. Which model of Ring Doorbell do you have, and what country are you located in? You can find the model name on the Device Health page in the Ring app, or on the back of the doorbell itself. I can verify what the power requirements are for the Ring Doorbell you have.
