Tracking Bricking Devices
Hi,My Ring Video Doorbell bricked itself a couple of weeks ago. The thing still works as a doorbell at least. it can ring my mechanical doorbell. But it can't connect to any wifi even after a hard reset (20 seconds and even 120 seconds hold on the orange button). Been reading the forums and it seems Ring (doorbells, floodlights, etc) appear to be bricking themselves quite often. I wanted to start a thread on which devices and how often. Might be able to come up with a pattern. I really don't like that Ring can push out updates anytime it wants without notification or permission from us. It doesn't even list the firmware version in the app for transparency.I'll start. San Diego, CA -- Video Ring Doorbell -- 9/24/2021
