I recently read a few customer RING Review problems with the video doorbell poor plastic design issues cracking, delaminating, and now my doorbell has a cracked 'button cap'. I called customer support recently to resolve this and got a 35% discount for a new Video Doorbell Elite I had professionally installed in 2022. The customer review stated be prepared to repurchase this doorbell every 5 years for this plastic design defect. With the discount I am paying over $220 for a new unit to replace a 10-cent plastic button cap. I submitted a photo, and I am confused this appears to be a known design flaw and I am wondering why Ring has not issued a recall or offer same model refurbished doorbells. The other customer got a new replacement from customer support. Looking at my account order history I had not realized how much I have invested in the RING products. Customer support personally has been very helpful over the years with resolving many of my product issues. I am hoping this post will get some traction for RING to recognize they need to do the right thing and find an amendable solution for customers that purchase the RING product, not a discount for a defect.
