Ring doorbell 3

i just got my ring doorbell today, and i have done everything i an think of to get it to work but its just not working its not showing me video and when i get lucky enough to connect to the camra its just a black video screen there is no sound at all it pinged my phone tp tell me somone was at the door when i had a friend walk to it but it then sent me a blacked out video of the event, it says signal is great and everything is up to date and yet its just not working even when i try and ring thr bell it just lights up and thats all no ring no video no ping
