Ring Doorbel 3 (battery) not responding at all
battery-video-doorbell
troubleshooting
I bought a ring 3 doorbell in March 2023, I have used it ever since while it was using battery power. Lately it has completely stopped working. I have checked both my battery packs (have a spare one that I used to switch out for a fully charged one when needed) and no success. The light around the button to 'ring' the bell does not light up and when I try to press and hold the reset button it also does absolutely nothing. Is this a known fault? I've only had the doorbell for about 1.75 year which doesn't sound to long to me...

Hi @user_0d6c64. Make sure the battery has been charged for 6-8 hours using the charging cable plugged into a standard power outlet. The battery pack should be fully inserted into the battery hatch on the Doorbell. If it's slightly loose, the battery wouldn't make contact and the Doorbell would not receive any power. After the battery has been properly inserted, you can reset the Doorbell by holding down the setup button for 20 seconds. Set a timer for this if needed, as holding the button down for less than 20 seconds won't result in a successful reset. You should then be able to reconnect the Doorbell in the Ring app after the reset. If you've tried the steps listed above, and the Doorbell is still completely unresponsive, please contact our support team directly to see what options are available. You can reach out at one of the numbers here, or @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram.
