New Peephole Cam Motion Not Working

Ok so I got a Peephole Cam and everything installed fine and it's working with the exception of motion detection. I have a full glass stormdoor which is in front of the regular door. I am guessingthat's the reason? Am I SOL with it because of that? I tried every adjustment there is, even have everything turned up all the way for detection and it won't detect a thing unless I open the door. Not even when I am standing right in front of it. Thank you.
