Motion Detection Issues

New ring 4…Motion detection severely limited if front door faces sun even if doorbell/camera not in direct sun itself. Apparently if the sun is hitting a person it affects the heat signature making it blend in with ambient temp and the range of detection becomes very limited. If you live in a southern state where the door area gets strong sun, heat based motion detection may not be the best option. Even with sensitivity to max the range is only 4-5 feet. If I bring the unit indoors the range jumps to ~20ft. I just got off phone with Ring and after ~2hrs of diagnostics they admitted heat is an issue. Ring is sending a replacement but I doubt it will be any different. Looks like Ring has some work to do.
