Lens peeling?!?

Noticed my camera for the last year has lost video quility. Went to change the battery this morning and noticed the lens plastic layer peeling off. I peeled off what remains of the clear tape/protective layer and it left a nasty cloud spot over the lens. looks like a nasty design defect as I saw something to peel off when I installed it. Guessing the layer does not handle UV light fromt the sun very well. Sadly this will be my one and only ring product. Paid almost $200 for this door bell in 2019. Just a vent post.
