Do i need a resistor for a Doorbell Wired or can I hook it directly to a transformer? I do not have a existing chime.

I think it's the pins on the Transformer that you're trying to park your doorbell up to. Older homes don't have a Transformer that can power the doorbell just by hooking up the two wires. You can purchase a brain Transformer and that will work perfect. A description that someone else posted about putting a jumper on your doorbell I think some figures your home doorbell to wear it it has and not power to work.
