Disappointed in Ring
Hi, I just purchased a ring which I thought was quite expensive. Then I had to find out that you have to pay more money to subscribe to get video playback, its not included. Oh and I can't even use the live view because it won't connect. There was no point in purchasing this doorbell. Im very disappointed over something I was very excited about.

We're here to help, neighbors! Video connection concerns are often related to wifi, mobile device, or Ring app communication variables. The best first thing to check is your wifi signal strength, or RSSI, which can be found in the Device Health section of your Ring app. Check out our [Community post about RSSI](https://community.ring.com/t5/Ring-Device-Tips-and-How-To-s/How-it-Works-Your-Ring-Device-RSSI-Good-vs-Poor/ba-p/751) for tips on optimizing this signal strength. Removing and reinstalling the Ring app is a quick way to ensure it is up to date and optimally integrated with your mobile device. On your mobile device, try testing video on wifi only, and then on data only, to see if either connection is more efficient. Please also ensure bluetooth and VPN is disabled. As for the video subscription, a subscription is required if you want to save recordings for later review. Without a subscription you can still live view and see live events, however, there is much more benefit to subscribing than just recordings. I am having the same issue. I can’t return it because I bought it on sale 3 months ago for a new house we were building.
