Not sure I understand why the new units have a built in battery basically meaning that you have no doorbell when charging? I had a spare battery for my old unit so just swapped it out when it needed charging? Seems odd to me

Hi @Quinnos. There are a few different models of the Ring Video Doorbells, but not all of them have an internal battery. The Ring Video Doorbell 3 and 4, both utilize the Quick Release Rechargeable Battery Pack. You can view all models of the Ring Doorbell on Ring.com.
