Bell does not ring

Original bell in the house does not ring when pushing button RING2 which is connected by wires of original door bell button. RING2 device itself operates as expected. It semms as if pushing RING2 button the wwires do not get 'connected'. When dismountingein RING2 and connecting the 2 original doorbell wires, the inhouse doirbell does work, so not an issue due to the wires themselves I guess.
