troubleshooting

I have two significant issues - Firstly I cannot get the video doorbell off of AWAY mode - not sure if they fact that I am away has anything to do with it (the doorbell is in a pied a terre we have in London) my wife is there and the doorbell will not go off away. Googled instructions and either I do not see the options people suggest or the do not work - for example disabling modes does not disable the away mode. Enabling modes it automatically enables to AWAY and I cannot change that. I tried to make my wife a user and the link I sent her doesn't work and now multiple attempts to enable her have failed. How can I fix this? I do not seem to have a button to toggle home and away - I can only toggle enable modes - enabling sets it to away disabling is still set at away.

Hi @Skirabbit. When you say that the Doorbell is in the Away mode, what behavior do you mean exactly? You can find our Help Center Article on the Modes feature [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036107792-Control-All-your-Ring-Devices-with-Modes), which will go into detail on how it works and what settings you have available with it. The Modes feature will essentially allow you to choose how your Doorbell behaves based on what mode it is in, such as if you want motion detection and recording on or off. As for adding your wife as a [Shared User](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/211018223-Allowing-Access-to-Shared-Users-and-Controlling-Ring-Devices-with-Multiple-Electronic-Devices), make sure you're following the steps listed below. 1. Tap on the three lines at the top left on the Dashboard screen. 2. Tap **Devices** . 3. Tap on the device that you want to add a Shared User for. 4. Tap **Shared User** (you might have to scroll to see it). 5. Enter the email of the person you want to add as a Shared User. 6. Tap **Add User** . 7. Tap **Send Invite** .
