Hi there, @athegn! People Only Mode is a special setting in your notifications that will set your Ring app to only alert you to motions detected that have been caused by people. While all valid motion events will still be recorded by your Ring device, People Only Mode can reduce the number of notifications you receive to only those caused by human beings. This means motion will still detect and be recorded, but in most cases the alerts should only come from human caused events. As mentioned in our [help center article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032947972-Refining-Your-Alert-Notifications-with-People-Only-Mode) about people only mode, there are times when reflections might be detected and received as an alerts. Of course, this functionality can change based on device type (battery vs power) and environment. The best next step will be to alter settings and fine tune motion through Ring app and mounting options. I hope this helps! :)
