Spotlight cam not charging from solar panel
I have put up a spotlight cam and connected to a solar charging panel. The battery is not charging despite saying it is connected to the solar panel. It is my second device that I run on solar panels and all settings and sun exposure are the same so I don’t understand what the problem is other than a fault with either the cam or the panel. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. With 2 cameras, it started at the same time, which makes me think we have a software issue.

I have the same issue. I have three spotlight cams all solar panel connected. Worked great for over a year. Now one isn’t charging properly and ring sent me a solar panel thinking it was that. Issue persists. Now ring is saying there is a known issue with certain cameras where it doesn’t charge so for sure it’s software but they are not giving to much info not help. What a waste. Equipment isn’t cheap and they break it with a software update and are not taking ownership of the issue. So now I have to take the battery out to charge while having a solar panel connected for decoration. Great job ring

Hi neighbors, the Solar Panel will provide a trickle charge to the battery with sufficient sunlight. This charge isn't as fast as manually charging the battery, but it can help extend the amount of time between charges. Please try the following troubleshooting steps for Solar Panels: - Check that your Solar Panel's cable is firmly connected to both the panel and the Camera. - Use a clean microfiber cloth to clear any dirt or debris from the Solar Panel. - Ensure the Solar Panel is receiving at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day. - Reboot the Camera using the [reboot option](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/7438395032980-Rebooting-your-Video-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera) on the Device Health page.
