Newly Installed Camera Has Been Deactivated

I recently bought and activated a Ring Spotlight Pro camera. Apparently, it came with a trail plan that I wasn't aware of. Anyway, I just got an email saying that my camera has been deactivated! What the heck? I have a fully paid plan on my account. Why is my new camera not covered by that? And now I have a camera that appears to be useless since it is deactivated. Now what? What are my next steps?

Hi @user_4ddc33. Where does it say your camera is deactivated? Can you share a screenshot of this? Even if your trial plan has ended, you can still use your cam for Live View. You can also manage your Ring Home Plan on Ring.com, under the Plans tab.

It said it on the app and web site dashboard on the camera's tile on those respective screens. And no, I could not use the camera for anything except reviewing previously recorded snapshots and videos. I cannot send a screenshot as I've managed to delete the device. I am going to try to reinstall it to see what happens.

Hi @user_4ddc33. After a device has been deactivated, you have to set it back up in the Ring app to use it again. Deactivation is an option under Device Settings > General Settings > Remove Device. It allows you to retain access to events, as opposed to removing the device and deleting all events. It's possible this was accidentally selected when you were troubleshooting your device. In any case, you should be able to walk through the setup process in the Ring app to use the camera again.
