Ring Security Cameras
Lights frequently keep coming on at night.
I have a floodlight cam wired pro model Black - SKU: B08FBRQ7RD. When it's dark the floodlights frequently come on, all night every night, but the camera only records when something is actually detected. Why do the lights keep coming on when there is no motion? something is triggering the lights but not the camera - camera is functioning as expected. Settings lights off, motion detection on, no mode settings, no schedules, motion sensitivity is in the middle, sound detection off, motion-activated lights is on (but assume this is need for the camera).

Since nobody from Ring answered my problem or user_015d65 who's situation is worse, I tried Co-pilot. This is AI's response It sounds like your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro's lights are being triggered by something other than motion detected by the camera. Here are a few potential reasons and solutions: Ambient Light Changes: Sometimes, changes in ambient light (like car headlights or streetlights) can trigger the floodlights. You might want to adjust the light sensitivity settings in the Ring app. Insects or Small Animals: Small creatures or insects can sometimes trigger the lights without being detected by the camera. You can try adjusting the motion zones to exclude areas where this might be happening. Reflections: Reflective surfaces, such as windows or shiny objects, can sometimes cause the lights to turn on. Try repositioning the camera or removing reflective objects from its field of view. Firmware Update: Ensure that your device's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, software updates can fix bugs or improve the device's performance. Reset and Reconfigure: If none of the above solutions work, you might want to try resetting the device to its factory settings and reconfiguring it. For more detailed troubleshooting, you can refer to the Ring support page.

This sounds like the same ongoing issue that many users are reporting. I first reported it over 6 weeks now. I suggest you call tech support to report it. Hopefully as they get more reports it will become a bigger priority.

I'm having the same issue, but mine happens during the day or night. The light will turn on with no motion detected, and it stays on until manually turned off in the app (where the light actually shows "OFF" but if I toggle to "ON" and then "OFF" again, the light will turn off). This seems to happen in any mode, even Disarmed, when motion detection for the device is turned off. Sometimes we will come back home from being away for a while, and the light will be on in the middle of the day. Turning the AWAY mode off has no effect, only turning it on and off manually in the app. This morning, we woke to find the light was on, with no motion alerts or any indication that it was on in the app.
