10% Discount Never Works - Scam
I've been with Ring for 5+ years, firstly with Ring Video Doorbell 2, then Ring Alarm, then upgraded to Ring Video Doorbell 4. Ring tout that one of the benefits of subscribing to the "Ring Protect Plus" plan is a 10% discount on store items, but in my experience this has rarely (if ever) works. Today is the latest example. I'm trying to buy a product with the 10% discount, and nothing I can do gets the discount to apply. Three online chats, all starting with bots and then progressing to "representatives", fail to get the discount applied. By the time I finish this, the discount would be redundant as the time I've wasted is worth more than the £10 discount I'd have got. Yet, because I'm determined, I phone Ring and get through to someone who promises that they are going to be able to help me. And then they don't (what a surprise!) because they tell me that the 10% discount will only apply to items at full price, and not items that are "on sale". So this 10% discount is pretty worthless. I can get the product for the same price from Amazon, or other retailers, so there is clearly the so-called "benefit" being afforded to subscribers is... worthless. This, on top of Ring's ever-increasing subscription charges, mean I'm soon not going to be a Ring customer. It's just greed. Their CEO is making so much money he's launching himself into space, I'll pay my money elsewhere.
