Three year old 2nd gen not charging

I bought a 2nd gen doorbell camera three years ago that I forgot about and never used. I tried charging it, and for 20 hours it showed the blue ring flashing in places around the circle. It never came to a full blue ring. Today I unplugged it and tried to connect it to the app, but that was not successful. Now when I plug it in it flashes a full blue circle about 10 times in a row then goes blank for about 30 seconds, then goes back to the 10 times flashing blue circle. I tried the orange button on the back and it does nothing.I appreciate your wisdom and advice!
