I can't unscrew my ring doorbell.

The screw just keeps turning, but it isn't coming out. I can't grab it with a needle nose plier because it isn't sticking out far enough. There is nothing to grab. I tried a flathead screwdriver and a knife to get under the screw head, but nothing is working and my doorbell needs to be charged. Any suggestions?
