  Ring needs to provide the ability to set the privileges for shared users so that you can give them full privileges. when there are multiple adult family members, each member should have the ability to modify settings. if i am not home, then my husband should be able to modify settings based on being home and judging the situation. the Shared user does not have full privileges. and now with 2 factor authentication - its impossible to share a single master ID because if it asks you for an authentication code and you are not the email or phone number it is sent to - then you are out of luck. this needs to be rethought as these limitations are treating one of the family members like a child who isn't allowed to make decisions. you need to fix this by setting up levels so one can grant full privileges to multiple adult family members.

  Hey @adama01. Thank you so much for your feedback in this situation! If you are going to have it where you have a single sign in, instead of shared users, I do have a recommendation you could work out in the meantime. Could you have a shared email account? Setting up a shared email account where it was like adamsfamily@gmail.com for example, would allow everyone in the family to get to said email to receive any code they need for logging into Ring. Now, you will need to get your Ring email changed with our support team [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036196372-Get-in-Touch) (as they process email changes), or you could set up all the devices on the new Ring account that you can create with this shared email address. That way, you all have the same email address to get access to the code, and can use the same sign on as owner for everyone! Please note that if you set up the new account on your accord, you will need to remove all devices from the account theyre on currently, and then re-set them up on the new account! Again, thank you for the feedback so I can pass this onto the appropriate teams, but just wanted to offer this as a possible solution in the meantime! :)

Ummm...thanks for attempting to come up with a workaround, but with all due respect, that is not actually a solution. All you've basically told him to do is turn off 2FA. Ring should provide real multi-factor authentication such as support for federated OAuth-style apps like Google Authenticator, Authy, Okta, etc., rather than rely on SMS (which is no longer considered security best-practice). And how about multiple auth factors to allow people to choose whether to use OAuth, SMS, phone callback, or a physical token like Yubikey. It's not like this stuff is rocket-surgery, and for a service that is tied to the security of my home and personal privacy, I would expect no less.

  2FA by SMS or email is ancient history, come on Ring, introduce the real MFA options via Auth App, USB key etc.
