What if Ring Alarm Pro is not the first router

The requirement that the ring alarm pro be the first router is a deal killer for me. Neither my provider nor I will allow this. Is this truly required. If Ring has to directly scan a port or two, why can't I map those ports to the Pro Router as a secondary device?

Hi @user9592. The Ring Alarm Pro is designed to [replace your existing router](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405167744276). Use of the Ring Alarm Pro as an extender will prevent access to many of the [Protect Pro](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061018212-Ring-Protect-Pro-information) subscription features, which includes 24/7 Backup Internet. However, if you have an existing Eero mesh system, you do have the option of adding the Ring Alarm Pro Base Station as an extender during the setup process.
