Set Motion detector to not trip alarm?

Question

Hello, can someone please explain how I can set a motion detector, so it will not activate the security system when in away mode?  The motion sensor is in a part of the house, where I want to detect activity but I do not want the alarm to be activated.  Thank you

Hi @Fmaduro. You can control which Contact Sensors and Motion Detectors are armed in each Mode. Check out [this Help Center article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005312623-Arming-Disarming-and-Setting-Modes-on-your-Ring-Alarm) for instructions on how to change the armed sensors in each Mode. Motion Detectors that aren't armed will still be on, and will still detect motion. I hope this helps.
