Ring Smoke/CO Listener can't successfully complete test

I purchased a Ring alarm system. I have successfully installed a large collection of 2nd Gen contact sensors, IR sensors, keypads, and one Smoke/CO Listener, but I have tried and failed twice now to install a second Smoke/CO Listener. The device pairs with the base station, and I have installed it within 6 inches of my smoke alarm with its microphone facing the smoke alarm. When I push the button on my smoke alarm and execute the test my smoke alarm issues one beep, and the Ring Smoke/CO Listener displays a red ring while the beep is sounding, but the setup app never says that the alarm was detected, and the app continues to display "Device testing needed for setup". I even did a factory reset of the Ring Smoke/CO Listener, but that didn't help. I have tried to setup two separate devices now, and they have both failed. The firmware on the device shows as being up to date. I also tried moving the one Ring Smoke/CO Listener that I was able to successfully test with my CO alarm so that it was next to my smoke alarm and ran it through a test cycle and it failed as well. When I put it back next to the CO alarm and ran another test cycle, it passed. The only conclusion I can come to is that the Ring Smoke/CO Listener doesn't work with all smoke alarms. Are others experiencing the same problem? Ring support folks, if you are monitoring this forum, are you aware that your device doesn't work with all smoke detectors?
