I have replaced an old alarm system with a ring system. I would like to install the keypads where the old keypads were. Can I use the Ethernet cable running from the old alarm and splice the ring adapter at both ends. If so which of the wires in the usb cable are being used?

This is exactly what I am trying to do. Having spliced the micro usb and connected to the cat 5 at the panel end, how did you connect the other end? Did you find out which cables carry the 5V power? Thanks

Actually the wire that I had going to the old alarm system was a 3 pair phone wire. I spliced the micro USB cable which only had two wires in it a red and a white one. I felt it didn’t matter which wire I connected the red and which I connected the white to as long as at the other end I connected th

Hi everyone, I'm running into an issue that hopefully someone can help out with. I'm trying to use my existing hard wiring from my old alarm keypad to power the ring one. I've purchased one of the adapters on amazon ([https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RDGR9GF/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o09

Hello, have you tested the DCV at both the source and far end?
