Motion person (answered) in the early hours of the night

I heard in the middle of the night my ring door bell it’s loud when you go past it “you are currently being recorded” when I checked no-one was there but when I listened back at the beginning I heard muffled voices and some noise then silent. My bf has connected to the app too and he wasn’t with me that night and claimed to have been asleep ( his phone was off ) now it wasn’t me on the motion and he said it wasn’t him. I don’t know what to think… He pranks a lot when I’m at home in the garden by connecting and speaking down the phone, so he’s well aware of how to do that. Was it a ghost, a hacker or is my bf lying?
