U
False Alarm at 1:42 in the morning...
troubleshooting

I've had my ring security system for about 2 weeks. I have a bunch of ring open/close sensors and one motion sensor. I also have a ring doorbell and 4 ring cameras. I had the system armed/home while we slept and was awoken to an alarm at 1:42AM. I got my gun, turned off the alarm and checked the house. Nothing. I checked the app and it said my patio sliding door sensor was tampered. Its 8' high on the top of the door. It seemed fine. Am I going to be able to trust this system?? Why would this have happened?? Can I disable a tamper from setting off the alarm?

Hi @user_24ade3. A tamper notification indicates that the cover of the sensor is not properly secured. I'd recommend removing the cover from the sensor, and snapping it firmly into place. The tamper status should then be cleared in the Ring app. If it isn't cleared, our support team can take a closer look and troubleshoot this particular Contact Sensor. You can reach out via phone, or on Facebook @Ring by sending a private message.
