Contact sensor (2nd gen) suddenly starts alerting about tamper condition
I'm two weeks into my new Ring security system deployment and just completed my one week "test" period of Ring Protect Plus. Suddenly this afternoon, my phone started blowing up with Ring alerts from a contact sensor saying it was tampered. I've been working at home all day (alarm not armed) but checked the window and it looked fine. I removed the cover (which was not loose, and triggered another tamper alert) and replaced it and it's been fine since. I know, reading some older posts here, that if this happens while the alarm system is armed, it will set off the alarm. I've also read some posts that indicate this cause be caused by "Z-Wave interference." The device in the app doesn't show low signal, the battery level is fine (it's brand new). Is there any way to see more details on what caused the tamper events in rapid succession?

Well, it happened again this morning. We were awoken at 3am by the alarm going off due to the same sensor reporting tampered. So this is my first false alarm with Ring. I called the monitoring center to make sure the emergency response was cancelled and then spoke with Diego (who was very friendly and helpful) in customer support who walked me through a bunch of troubleshooting steps (and I sent him photos of placement, the inside of the device, etc.). He ended up having me remove the "failed device" from my base station and is sending a replacement.

Having this too. Very aggravating. Adjusting the cover is wishful thinking.

CHi @Carvin. I'd recommend contacting our support team if your Contact Sensor will not clear the Tampered status, despite ensuring the cover is firmly snapped into place. Our support team can help with you through any necessary troubleshooting steps in order to find a resolution. Hi @windracer. It might have been the way the cover was sitting that caused it to show as tampered, as it was fixed once you removed and replaced the cover. If this does happen again, I would recommend contacting our support team as they can pull up your account in order to take a closer look and make sure the Contact Sensor is operating properly. You can give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times.
