Can I install a second keypad in a detached garage?

I've been using a Ring Alarm 1st generation both in my home and vacation home for 3+ years without any issues... So far a great product.I'm in the process moving into a single home with a detached garage/shop and noticed that there is a recommendation to NOT install a second keyboard in a detached location.Why? What are the options to use the latest generation of Ring alarms at a two separate locations ~100ft apart.
