Ring Video Doorbell
Ring Video Doorbell Recording Length
My Ring Video Doorbell (Gen 1) is hardwired, I have set my device to Video Recording Length to 30 seconds, though recordings are only being captured between 10 to 15 seconds and I am missing the vast majority of the motion event. The same issue happens to my Ring Stick Up Camera (Gen 1) which is also USB powered. Motion Verification = Disabled Motion Frequency = Standard People Only Mode = Disabled

Hi, What I have noticed when going through the video recordings, when motion is detected and the person moves out of camera it will stop recording, so instead of recording the full 30 seconds it will only record between 10 to 15 seconds. That’s fine if the person does not come back into view but the issue I have is that the person will go out of camera view and come back into camera view but the video has stopped recording. If it had kept to the full 30 seconds it would have captured all motion. Is there no way to make all recordings keep to the full 30 seconds? Thanks

C@zeesh It sounds like you may have [Motion Verification](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038727232-Understanding-and-Using-Motion-Verification-on-Ring-Devices) toggled on, which is impacting the length of your recordings when the motion has stopped. You can follow the steps below to disable it, which should do the trick for you! :) - Open the Ring app. and tap the three lines on the top left of the **Dashboard.** - Tap ** Devices.** - Tap the device that you want to adjust for Motion Verification. - Tap **Motion Setting.** - Tap **Motion Verification.** - Tap the motion verification toggle. - Confirm that you wish to turn the system off.

ZInterestingly the Stick up cam after enabling motion verification is now recording to the specified time, strange doing the opposite. Though the Doorbell it does not matter whether enabling or disabling motion verification it will stop recording when motion has stopped. Is there a way to restart the doorbell?

C@zeesh Yes, I would suggest resetting the Doorbell and walking through a new setup. You can reset it by holding down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. Once that's done, you can set it back up in the Ring App and test it out. If the videos are still not recording at the appropriate length after trying this step, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). They'll be able to take a deeper look into this and provide more advanced troubleshooting assistance. Hi @zeesh. I'd be happy to take a look at this. Would you be able to share a screenshot of the recording length you have chosen alongside a video example of the recording being only 10-15 seconds? The recording should be saved in your Event History log in the Ring App, so you can choose to share it via email and copy the link that is generated.
