Ring Video Doorbell 2 bell push light 'flaring' at night

I have a Ring Video Doorbell 2, powered by a mains transformer. I also have a CCTV camera facing the doorbell. I have noticed that during the night the doorbell button light ‘flares’ noticeably, recently on a 14 minute repeating pattern.
