Ring doorbell not charging and ringing mechanical door bell anymore.

My doorbell 2 first gen stopped charging and working with my doorbell. I change the transformer and it still doesn't work. I have reset the device to default and still experience the same issue. I have checked the transformer by touching both cables together and it does ring my doorbell. The ring doorbell works good on battery but just isn't charging or ringing the mechanical doorbell anymore. Is there anything else I can do or is it time to get a new one?
