Ring Doorbell 3 Hardwired showing battery

I have had a Ring Doorbell 3 installed hardwired since Nov 2020. The device health has always shown hardwired. The battery drained at a speed that I've recharged only once. Suddenly the unit shows the power source as battery and the battery lasts about 2 weeks. It was installed on an existing chime. The chime still rings when the Ring button is pressed so there is still power to the unit. Any help as to why this sudden change and how to fix will be appreciated.
