Rind Doorbell Pro Connection

My Ring doorbell pro won’t connect. I keep getting the error that my router is too far away but it’s literally 4 feet from the doorbell. I contacted support but they were stumped and recommended the Ring Chime extender.  I am having a hard tim understanding why I should spend more money for an issue where at face value shouldn’t be an issue.  Any advice is appreciated.
