I installed a floodlight camera on my garage last week. We’ve had one rainfall event (and it wasn’t even an inch of rain) since and there’s already a good amount of water accumulated inside the bulb. Is this expected? Is it defective? I’ve seen other answer which suggest bringing the camera inside for a couple days to dry out. Yeah, I don’t think I’m going to rewire this camera every time it rains.

There is a difference between weather resistant and weather proof. In general, I try to mount any device like this (even a security light) in a location that is at least somewhat shielded from the elements. The UV alone will take its toll on anything completely in the open. So, perhaps examine your mounting locations for possible alternatives.

Hi @user77456. We do not recommend drilling a hole in your device, as dismantling your Ring device in any way will void the warranty. If your Ring Camera has sustained water damage, the best step here is to reach out to our support team for further assistance.
