But even if you do subscribe, RING will pester EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU OPEN THE RING APP with an ORANGE BANNER that hides a good and valuable part of the app screen. YES, even if you SUBSCRIBE! I have both a RING doorbell and outdoor camera and am looking for an alternative to RING for this reason. I've called tech support and they are clueless!

Good question, @Ahsh! At Ring we value our neighbors' security and privacy. For this reason, any time you are not subscribed to a Protect Plan, the activity on your account is not saved anywhere, nor is it recoverable. Subscribing is optional, and only subscribed accounts who have chosen to save videos will have videos saved. This means that a subscribing after a lapsed subscription, or upgrading from unsubscribed to subscribed, will not recover any videos for events that happened during an unsubscribed period.
