I'd like to make a complaint
My 2nd gen ring doorbell suddenly stopped working. I have spoken to customer support and there is nothing they can do - it appears to have been fully charged when it went offline, but I can’t get it to go into setup mode or connect.It’s 3 years old so it’s out of warranty. The very polite customer service lady can do nothing other than offer me a 30% discount code, which takes it to the same price as Amazon.Not what I expect when spending £60 on a device, plus the accessories I bought to go with it. I had the exact same issue and spoke with two reps who were no help and was told I would hear from a manager or to escalate the case and within 48 hours and it’s like nine days later and crickets. I’ve been with Ring for eight or 10 years which means that I have made approximately 96 monthly payments and the most they can offer me is 30% off. That’s not even acceptable. I also heard that there was a recall on the ring too because if not installed correctly if the screws were put in wrong, it could cause a fire but yet no one at rang told me that or gave me the opportunity to get a new one I am going to contact the FEC and the Better Business Bureau.

THi @user79286. If you have made approximately 96 payments to your Ring Home Plan, that likely means your device is covered under the Ring Home Plan warranty. I suggest reaching out to us on Facebook or X @Ring via private message and we'll be able to look into this with you.

Hi @user79286. Typically with an unresponsive device, we advise to fully charge the battery, then reset the device by holding down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. After the reset is done, try walking through a new setup in the Ring app using the steps under Set Up a Device.Contacting our support team was a good step to take, as they should have run you through all the applicable troubleshooting steps. If your Doorbell is still unresponsive after trying all the steps, that’s when our support team would offer the out of warranty discount code you received.
