Ever install a Ring Doorbell on a fence?

Hey all - I need to get the Ring doorbell installed on a iron fence. Is this possible? Has anyone ever done this? main posts are about two inches wide and doubful that i will be able to put on the post directly but was hoping we have some creative people out there and have figured out other solutions.thanks!
