Ring Video Doorbell
Doorbell Pro won't connect to network after recent repair
New Ring doorbell was installed a while back, but never worked properly with our existing chime because we needed to update our transformer. We had an electrician come out yesterday to do that. The doorbell was previously on our old wifi. We have since installed a new fiber wifi system. I had to leave before they were done, so didn't get to stick around to set it up after they fixed the transformer. Odd thing is that the doorbell was up and working before the electricians left the house with no intervention on our part and I could see activity on it while I was at work. Sometime after the electricians left it went offline and said it was installing an update. Our old router was still in the house and turned on, so I assumed it had connected to it from when we had set it up before, but was probably not able to install the update since that router is no longer connected to the internet. I turned the old router off and removed the doorbell from my Ring app. I then tried to set it up as a new device to connect to our fiber router, but it never would connect. When it gets to the part about connecting to the Ring network it would fail. I pressed the reset button for 20-30 seconds to try to clear everything out thinking it was till looking for the old router. This caused the blue light to come on, then the white light would flash (not rotate like it is supposed to.) Eventually it came up and said it was ready to set up, but then the light went out completely and has not come back on since. I'm wondering it the doorbell needs a firmware update, but I don't know how to do that if I can never get it to connect to the wifi. Also, while working with it last night the doorbell started ringing on it's own while I was in the setup process. This happened multiple times. A couple times I got a screen in the app that said I needed to check the settings app on my phone, though it wasn't specific about what exactly I was supposed to be checking. I tried looking for a Ring network to connect to in the phone's wifi settings, but nothing showed. What's odd is we also had another Ring camera installed yesterday and I was able to add it to the network just fine, no problems at all. It is further away from the router than the doorbell is so I don't think distance is a problem. Any advice is appreciated.
