Doorbell Downloaded 12gb today

As per subject, my doorbell downloaded over 12gb of data today (reported by my router traffic monitor), how is this possible?I expect a high volume in upload, but not in download. Thankfully I have no cap on the broadband, but if I had I could have incurred extra charges.Can someone from Ring please explain? I tried to call customer Service, but it says it is closed.Even if it was a firmwaree upgrade, it seems rather large.
