Doorbell changing source on TV!

For the last couple of days the app shows poor wifi connection on Chime pro and Ring doorbell but also when the doorbell is rung, the source on our TV changes! Any thoughts?

Hi @LynnieH. This sounds very odd. Would you be able to take a short video of this happening so I can share it with my team here? When attaching this video, you will need to compress the MP4 file into a ZIP file, as ZIP files can be attached to your reply and not MP4s. In addition, you can upload this video elsewhere, such as YouTube, and then share the link to the video in your reply. This will give us a better idea of what is going on and how to best address this issue. Thank you!

I would like to see a solution to this. We just installed our ring doorbell and every time we ring it, our Samsung TV input changes from hdmi1 to hdmi3.

I fixed it. I use a fire stick and FireTV was being invoked on the ring event and trying to stream the ring doorbell video to my tv. I went into settings on the fire stick and set the firetv output from hdmi3 to none and that fixed it.

This is happening with our doorbell and TV, too. Would love to hear any solution!

Exactly the same for me too. Doorbell is pressed and the source changes on my Samsung TV from Sky to Amazon firestick

Hey neighbors. If this is changing on a FireStick or other Alexa enabled device, this could be due to how you have this integration configured in the Alexa app. In the Alexa app, select the Doorbell. Next you will see Announcement Devices. Make sure that your TV is not selected. If it is, you will continue to have your TV change the channel to the Live View when it is prompted. I hope this helps!

Guys, I also have this issue. Whilst using a 4k firestick , I press the mic and ask Alexa to connect to the front door, the result is that Alexa does show the front door ring bell and is visible on my TV - however what it also does at the same time is for some reason it also changes the source on my TV, so before I can view the Ring bell obviously I have to switch back to the Firestick HDMI Source. Please note that my Firestick is NOT turned on for announcements within the Alexa App. Any clues, could this be a software issue?

Hi, I had the same issue and found the fix. On the Samsung TV I went to settings, then to General, then to External Device Manager, then I turned off Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) - not sure what other impact this might have (strangely didn’t need to do this on my second Samsung TV, but that does have a soundbar connected), but I’ve noticed no difference on my TV and when the doorbell rings the TV doesn’t change sources/channels anymore. UPDATE - fixes this issue, however my Samsung remote does not control the firestick with this setting off (I decided to toggle this switch on when I use the firestick and then turn it off).
