direct sunlight and heat

Looking for some guidance here. My house faces west and gets full sunlight for many hours, especially in the summer. Are there are known issues with direct sunlight and/or heat? I'm cautious of purchasing a new doorbell as the sun tends to breakdown plastic rather quickly and heat fries electronics. Thanks, Brian
