The camera to put in a window is the "Ring Indoor Camera". That is the one that has the feature to turn off the ir leds. With the ir leds on they relfect in the window and you get nothing at night. Of course you will need adequate outdoor lighting to see what is outside the window. If you are not picking up motion in the daytime, then it is likely the motion sensitivity settings.
